Pulau Batu Putih : mystery is solved!

"dokumen awak hilang lah..file semula" i guess this sounds very familiar particularly to litigation lawyers...imagine you file tonnes of documents in Court and you'd have sleepless nights thinking whether your documents would be in the Court's file for your coming trial. and the moment the officer tells you that the documents are missing, by showing the filing receipt won't do much help..that's how things go as far as I'm concerned.

ahhh..no wonder lah..leadership by example i believe.

we lost Batu Putih Island to Singapore because we failed to produce the letter issued by the British Governor in Butterworth to Temenggong of Johor asking permission to build a lighthouse on that island. and why we couldn't produce the letter?oh yah..we lost it!

Pulau Batu Putih legal battle?definitely can't 'win one'.win-win situation?not even close!

a lesson for every one though. The importance of amanah/trust :-

"Verily! Allah commands that you should render back the trusts to those to whom they are due.'' (4:58)

"Truly, We did offer Al-Amanah (the trust or moral responsibility or honesty and all the duties which Allah has ordained) to the heavens and the earth, and the mountains, but they declined to bear it and were afraid of it (i.e., afraid of Allah's torment). But man bore it. Verily, he was unjust (to himself) and ignorant (of its results)". (33:72)
