in jurisprudence class today, i got something that captivates me from sir iqbal..he recited verse35 of surah al nur and indeed the verse sounds very beautiful and somewhere in my mind, this surah is familiar to me as i recited the verse along with sir iqbal who remembered this verse by his heart..at the end of the recital..he said something about hidayah...

''Allah is the Light [2996] of the heavens and the earth, [2997]The parable of His Light is as if there were a niche,And within it a Lamp: The Lamp enclosed in Glass; [2998]The glass as it were a brilliant star; [2999]Lit from a blessed Tree, [3000]An Olive, neither of the East nor of the West, [3001]Whose oil is well-nigh luminous, though fire scarce touched it; [3002]Light upon Light!Allah doth set forth parables for men: and Allah doth know all things.
surah 24:35 Al Nur (The Light)(Abdullah Yusuf Ali, The Holy Qur'an, 1989.)''

i had the oppurtunity to look back at this verse after my maghrib prayer...the verse is indeed captivating as i would state here literally, based on the meaning of the equation that Allah has made with regards to the divine light...if only we could keep this sayings of God right protected in our heart..i guess thre's nothing more that men could ask from God as the light or i shall refer it as hidayah as explained in this verse embraces the supremecy of hidayah as a sorce of strenth of human life, as the light is well protected in a place where its light could never pierce through its wall..and within the light there lies a glass that shines like the stars and further equated with pearls...where it is lit with oil originated from the sacred tree of olive and the oil shines even when it is not intact with the light..and the light is placed upon layers of light---take a minute and try to digest the arrangement of this metaphor..and all that we can see with our naked eyes is that how much God loves us as with Him lies the gift of hidayah which will never leave our side...how every equation suggests only one thing..ie protection and mercy of God...its kinda hard for me to put this in writing as to me it is too deep to be poured on the papers...

imam al-ghazali has elaborated further on this verse in his book'ihya ulumuddin' which ive been reading since last month..and surprisingly sir iqbal has enlightened this to be further appreciated...i thank God for this...indeed God is always with us in the realization of truth....
