fade out into the stars

after i got back to my room...i watched 'BARAN' as i borrowed this movie from sir iqbal yesterday-'BARAN' won the best foreign movie of montreal film festival last year...majid majidi is the director of the movie who is also the director of the academy award nominee for 'children of heaven'..indeed iran has made good movies that attract international recognition...

what makes me wanna watch this movie is when sir iqbal,in our class yesterday commented on the quality of malay films and how lame our film industry is as we are lacking this'value' as showed in this kind of movies produced as a result of human conscience-not merely on commercial basis-as we have now in our film industry...i still remembered what he said about 'baran'-anyone who wants to know about being in love-watch this''...

after watching baran..now i understand why sir iqbal insists us to watch this movie...its not what we use to be drawn to look at when love is involved in typical malay,bollywood or hollywood movies..love is no fairy tales nor beautiful words uttered by the one who claims that he is so in love nor promises made as if the world is the most beautiful planet...in baran...the girl didnt utter even a single word till the end of the movie...she was working at a construction site as her father broke his bones while he was working..she was posing as a man in order to get the job..the guy-lateef was mad at her as she had replaced his work and he had to do heavier work..but one day he saw shadow of the girl combing her hair and he started to fall in love with the girl...a lot of things happened..and words could never describe how deep he was in love with her..without the girl even knew it...i guess this is what love is all about..i mean true love..pure and sincere...not as usually potrayed even in our every day life....i strongly recommend all of u out there to watch this movie...ive made a copy of this movie and if anyone is interseted..just let me know...

there was a scene where lateef met a cobbler to get his shoes repaired and he asked the old man..'are u alone here' and the old man replied'MAN ALONE IS A NEIGHBOUR OF GOD..'-how beautiful those sayings are.....^^peace out^^
